The Twelfth Five Year Plan for Education envisages the dictum of
excellence, equity and inclusiveness. This creates a new situation within the
classroom, particularly in the English literature classroom. Colleges
exclusively for the elite have become the thing of the past and several first
generation learners and students from rural areas have access to these
institutions. But it has resulted in the deterioration of the overall quality
for one reason that we have failed to accommodate, to assist, to guide and
facilitate them in the learning process.
Scaffolding is rarely done. Colleges located in the countryside catering
exclusively for the rural youth are no exception to this situation.
As a teacher, I feel it is our responsibility to enhance, to provide
and scaffold the learning strategies and enable the students appreciate human
experience in education. It is to serve such I have initiated this blog. Hope
it serves those for whom it is intended.
- The syllabus for Part II: English, Soft Skills and English Majors along with question paper pattern are uploaded for the benefit of the students.
- List of Reference books and e-books has been uploaded to cultivate the habit of self-study and thereby making the learner independent, further providing an opportunity to the underprivileged student access to such resources.
- Sample learning objectives has been appended to ensure guided-learning and to give the learner a sense of direction.
- Supplementary Study Material is uploaded to aid in preparation for the exams.
